The intimate Paris Quartets are brought to life in the stunning surrounds of the Wren Library

Today's video is a beautiful performance by Arcangelo of the sixth movement, Modéré, from the ‘Paris’ Quartet No 6 in E Minor. It has been produced as part of a new film project in which they've made history by being the first group to have been filmed playing in the historic Wren Library at Trinity College, Cambridge – a particularly apt location as it was built during Telemann’s lifetime.

The award-winning period ensemble is led by the artistic director Jonathan Cohen at the harpsichord and joined by flautist Georgia Browne, violinist Sophie Gent, gambist Jonathan Manson, and lutenist Thomas Dunford.

The full performance is now available on the Arcangelo YouTube channel here.

Arcangelo won a Gramophone Classical Music award in 2017 for their recording of Bach Cantatas (nos 54, 82 & 170) featuring Iestyn Davies and conducted by Jonathan Cohen (Hyperion) which you enjoy below via Apple Music.
